Bristol City hosts Leeds United in a match from the first round of the Championship

Bristol City hosts Leeds United in a match from the first round of the Championship. Let’s take a look at this fixture at the Ashton Gate in our sure win predictions for today.

Last season Bristol City did pretty good in the Championship. They finished 8th in the league, being on just four points behind the 6th Derby County and the playoff zone. If they follow this performance and just do a little bit better, Bristol will have a pretty realistic chance to fight for promotion.

Lee Johnson continues to be Bristol City’s manager. He’s managing the team since 2016 and the club is satisfied with him. But what he and the board did on the transfer market this summer?

Bristol City spent around 9 million euro for Chelsea’s centre back Tomas Kalas, while signing two more players from the Blues – the midfielder Kasey Palmer and the left back Jay Dasilva. Brentford’s goalkeeper Daniel Bentley was also signed. Meanwhile the club sold its starting left back Lloyd Kelly, who was signed from Bournemouth.

For Leeds United the last season in the Championship went good, but finished in a dissapointing way. Leeds finished third in the standings, but Marcelo Bielsa’s team didn’t win the playoffs for promotion. Despite of this, Bielsa continues to be the club’s manager and he will make another try to bring the club back to the Premier League.

On the summer market Bielsa didn’t do much. The club signed Brighton’s Ben White and Wolves’ Helder Costa on loan, while Jack Clarke was sold to Tottenham, but he will play once again for Leeds as a loanee. In the same time Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Samu Saiz and Caleb Ekuban left the club for other projects.

These are our sure win predictions today for the Championship clash from the first round of the league between Bristol City and Leeds United. Good luck.
