Lazio hosts Rennes at the Stadio Olimpico

Lazio hosts Rennes at the Stadio Olimpico in a very interesting game from Group E of Europa League. These are our Europa League predictions for this fixture in the beautiful Italian capital.

Lazio surprisingly started with a loss their campaign in the group stage, losing against CFR Cluj in Romania. The game started well for the Eagles and Bastos opened the score for them, but the Romanian side turned it around with goals from Ciprian Deac from a penalty kick and Billel Omrani.

Surely it was not the start Simone Inzaghi was hoping for, but now his boys will have the opportunity to fix their mistake at the Olimpico. We are sure that Lazio’s fans will support their boys in this clash.

Lazio are entering this game in a high mood, because few days ago they scored four goals in the Serie A fixture against Genoa. The Eagles dominated at the Olimpico, winning the match with 4-0. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Stefan Radu scored before the halftime break, while Felipe Caicedo and Ciro Immobile finished the job in the second half.

Rennes won a point from their first game in the group against Celtic at the Roazhon Park. Both teams scored their goals in the game after penalty kicks. Mbaye Niang opened the score for Rennes before the halftime break, but Celtic’ Ryan Christie equalised during the second half.

Few days before the visit to Rome, Rennes had another tough away game. In Ligue 1 they had to travel to the legendary Stade Velodrome to face Olympique Marseille. Mbaye Niang scored again for Rennes, but Marseille secured a point after an equalising goal from Duje Caleta-Car.

We are sure that Lazio and Rennes will offer us a pretty great game of football at the amazing Stadio Olimpico on Thursday. In our Europa League predictions we think that Lazio are a slight favourite here, but Rennes are not an easy team to beat.
